It is sad to think about this being my last Christmas at home, but more than anything I am filled with joy and excitement as I think about starting a life with my love. I've found myself daydreaming about going to cut down our very own Christmas tree and making handmade ornaments that we will keep through the years...& I can't wait!

Today I finally got off my lazy butt and to go on a long run. To make a long story short, my freshman year of college I gained the freshman 15...and then some. I blame it mostly on the fact that I had an all you can eat meal plan and the only activity I got was walking to and from class. For about 2 years I have slowly been losing the weight I so quickly gained. I know that sounds like a long time but there were (unintentional) breaks throughout. Anyway, since getting engaged I have had extra motivation to really get to my goal weight this time. Whenever I'm feeling like giving into my laziness, I check out some of my favorite motivational quotes on Pinterest.

Yesterday Charlie, Zach, and I went to the Funfest dog show to support his doggy friends, Annabelle and Earl. I was a little nervous about taking my puppy to a place where there would be hundreds of dogs but he did so well! I was definitely a proud mom.
The highlight of the show was when Annabelle took a poo right when she was walking around the rink. That girl sure does know how to steal the show!

The Engagement
Zach asked me to marry him on May 24th. It was funny because we had plans to go hiking that day but some errands we had to run ended up taking too long and we couldn't go. By that time all I wanted to do was lay around and watch Boy Meets World, our fave, but Z was not having it. He convinced me to get my butt off the couch by saying we could go run at the park which is also my fave. After we got done running we went to Sweet Cece's for some frozen yogurt. Then we went back to the park to lay out a blanket and look at the stars. Z played one of our favorite songs on his phone and we danced. I was a little suspicious because we aren't the type of couple that does super romantic things but I thought surely he wasn't going to propose after the weird day we had. Also I was sure he hadn't talked to my parents yet so I had convinced myself this wasn't the night.
Then things got a little strange. Z said "here let me get this other blanket out and lay it down." By this point I thought he was acting weird. I had been talking about how cold I was the whole night so I was thinking "ummm...why didn't you give it to me earlier? How stupid." I didn't know that was part of his little plan to get the ring out of his backpack. When I turned around to tell him I didn't appreciate him holding out on me with the blanket, he was bent down on one knee. Neither of us can remember exactly what he said except will you marry me and of course I said yes!

Gosh I suck at blogging. As in, the world's worst. While it's always been my desire to update my blog frequently, I also know I don't usually follow through with things (hey at least I'm honest). But during these next few months it is going to be super important to keep a journal. I have so much going on that I don't want to miss out on the little things! Here's a little update on life lately.
1. I got engaged! I've never been so in love and excited for my future. For some reason since the day we got engaged I've been wanting to spend every second of every day with Zach which is odd for me. Anyway, enough with the mushy stuff...we set the date for June 29 of next year and now life is filled with picking out flowers, colors, and serving dishes.
2. I will start an internship with Quillen Rehab Hospital in August with an Occupational Therapist.
3. I'll be applying for grad school sometime in November or December (eeek).
4. Being mama to my beagle puppy Charlie who will turn 1 this September.
5. Working a ton trying to save up money for married life (funn)
6. Workin' on losing weight for my wedding (also super fun)
I could probably add a million more things to that list but I will move on. As you can tell I'm super busy and I think the next year will be important to document! One of my new year's resolutions this year was to actually stick with things I start so we'll see how this blogging goes!
